Box Score Cary, N.C. — The seventh-ranked and third-seeded Catawba College baseball team racked up 20 hits in its win over 17th-ranked and seventh-seeded Bentley in an elimination game on Monday, setting Catawba's new single-season wins record with its 48th win on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST INNING
- Two walks and a hit-by-pitch loaded the bases for Bentley with one out
- An RBI groundout scored the game's first run for the Falcons
SECOND INNING
- Nathan Chrismon was hit by a pitch and stole second
- Hubbard ripped an RBI triple down the right field line to score Chrismon
- Cloud followed with an RBI double to right-center to take the lead
- Cloud stole third, allowing Logan Dyer's RBI groundout to score another run with Catawba leading 3-1
- A leadoff walk, a bunt and a single scored a run to cut the deficit to a run
THIRD INNING
- Hunter singled and stole second to lead off the third
- Chrismon's safety squeeze bunt scored him from third
- Hubbard slapped a double down the right-field line to add to Catawba's lead, up 5-2
FOURTH INNING
- Cloud led off the fourth inning with a solo homer to right field to extend the lead to four
- Tommy Bolton's RBI double cut Catawba's deficit to 6-3
- Curt Heath followed with a two-run double of his own to get within a run
- Jared Berardino tied the game at 6 with a single up the middle
SIXTH INNING
- Cloud walked, stole second and reached third on an error to lead off the sixth
- Two walks loaded the bases with nobody out in the sixth
- Hunter's sac fly scored the go-ahead run from third
- Atkins followed with a two-run single up the middle to make it 9-6
- Chrismon laced a single to left field to score another run, leading 10-6
SEVENTH INNING
- The leadoff runner for Bentley in the seventh reached on a strikeout and a passed ball
- After a two-out walk and a wild pitch moved the runners up to scoring position, Heath scored two on a single through the right side, cutting the deficit to 10-8
EIGHTH INNING
- Jack Cuba pulled through with a pinch-hit RBI base hit with two outs to add insurance
- Cloud's opposite-field double scored Cuba to make it 12-8
NINTH INNING
- Three straight singles loaded the bases with nobody out in the top of the ninth
