VALDOSTA, Ga. — The Catawba College men's golf team stands 13th through 36 holes of the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional at Valdosta Country Club.
Thursday action was impacted by a weather delay as rain showers passed through the region, causing the first round to be suspended. Play resumed on Friday with the opener's completion as well as the second round.
Team leaders No. 1 West Florida and No. 16 Nova Southeastern have moved in lockstep with identical first and second rounds to post a pair of 15-under-par 561s. No. 6 Georgia Southwestern had the best opening round at 279 (-9) but fell off its pedestal on Friday, bumping the Hurricanes down to third place.
In line for individual medalist distinction is UWF's Cooper Tendick with a 12-under 132. He and Lee's Drew Zielinski, who is one shot behind, each recorded tournament-best 65s in the second round. The highest-standing representative from the Southeast Region is Sam Brown of GSW in a tie for fifth, while Wingate's Lewis Beeden and Emmanuel's Gabriel Hull immediately follow with a share of seventh place.

- Lockwood ended Friday with a birdie, completing a 21-spot rise as the redshirt junior turned in a 71 scorecard to follow up a first-round 76, good for 49th alongside Esnault
- Bonnet registered the squad's lowest score in the first round with 73 shots but failed to replicate the same success in Round 2 as he finished the round in 76 strokes
- Kapur put a 13-over opening round behind him, cleaning up his mistakes with an 11-shot improvement to end the initial 36 holes with a score of 159
