Salisbury, N.C. — The Catawba College men's track and field team set its new highest rank in program history on Wednesday when the team was ranked 16th by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Catawba is coming off of a strong Mondo College Invitational in which
Victor Smith set the fastest mark in the country in the 60m dash with a mark of 6.63 seconds.
Miles Stephens also broke seven seconds in his last outing and was an All-American in the indoor 60m last season.
Jayden Bennermon turned in two top-six finishes in the high jump and long jump at the Mondo College Invite, while
James Shue finished sixth in the 3K run in his last outing.
Catawba Track and Field is back in action this weekend, split between the Bast-Creeger Multi Invitational in Salem, Va., the Bob Pollock Invitational in Clemson, S.C. and the ASICS Superblast Invite at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem.
