Blacksburg, Va. — The 16th-ranked Catawba College men's track and field team split up between the Doc Hale Invitational hosted by Virginia Tech and the JDL Camel City Invite at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Doc Hale Invitational
One-Mile Run
- Seth Caudill started off the day in Blacksburg with the school record in the mile with a time of 4:08.46, good for sixth overall and first among Division II runners in the event
- Will Lyons also had an 11th-place finish in the meet for the second-fastest among non-Division I and unattached runners with a 4:16.00 mark
- Seth Roy crossed in 4:21.05 for a 15th-place finish
60-Meter Dash - Prelims
- Catawba graduate Winfred Porter qualified for the 60-meter dash finals as an unattached runner along with current Catawba student-athletes Miles Stephens and Au'Wann Gary
60-Meter Dash - Finals
- Porter finished as the runner-up in the final with a 6.77-second effort
- Stephens and Gary placed sixth and eighth, respectively
400-Meter Dash
- Kengel Christopher turned in a top-eight finish in the 400-meter dash with a seventh-place finish with a 49.62-second effort
JDL Camel City Invite
Long Jump
- Donaven Brown earned a top-20 finish in the long jump over at JDL with a leap of 6.61 meters
