Clemson, S.C. — Catawba College graduate student Victor Smith bested a star-studded high-major field of over 50 student-athletes to take home the individual title in the 60-meter dash at the Bob Pollock Invitational on Friday hosted by Clemson University.
HOW IT HAPPENED
60-Meter Dash Preliminaries
- Smith placed sixth in the preliminaries with a 6.66-second mark to qualify for the smis
- Miles Stephens just finished on the outside of the qualifying time with a 6.86-second effort, good for 26th
60-Meter Dash Semifinals
- Smith cruised past the finish line in 6.63 seconds, punching his ticket to the final with another sixth-place finish
60-Meter Dash Finals
- Smith clocked in another time of 6.66 seconds to inch ahead of Mississippi State's Adekalu Fakorede in the final to take the individual crown
