Mars Hill, N.C. — The Catawba College women's basketball team finishes off a two-game road trip on Saturday when it travels to Mars Hill to take on the Lions in South Atlantic Conference play at 2 p.m.

- Sheree Gidney stepped up with the absence of key players in the frontcourt for Catawba on Wednesday, scoring a game-high 17 points on 7-for-13 shooting in 26 minutes off the bench
- The outing is her third with 17 points this season, following losses at Lenoir-Rhyne and versus Coker at home
- The sophomore has multiplied her per-game scoring by over five to this point, up to 7.9 per game from 1.5 points per contest as a freshman last season

- Saniya Wilson has made her first three starts of the season in Catawba's last three games, logging exactly 29 minutes in each of the contests
- The redshirt junior has averaged 3.7 assists per game in those games, up from 1.7 assists per contest through the first 11 games of the season
- Wilson is shooting a career-best 39.3 percent from three-point range this season with already more triples this season than any other year in her career
 
SCOUTING THE LIONS

- The Lions defeated Newberry at home; their eight league losses this season are by an average of 26.6 points
