Wingate, N.C. —- Catawba College junior Brandon Crabtree and sophomore Joe Burleyson earned Second Team All-America honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association, the organization announced Wednesday afternoon.
Both student-athletes earn All-America recognition for the first time in their careers.
Crabtree, the 2026 South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year, led the conference and ranked fifth in the country with 95 hits this season, which included 22 doubles and 16 home runs with 65 RBI heading into the Southeast Super Regional. Crabtree won the SAC batting title, currently sitting at a .430 average on the season with 45 walks to just 15 strikeouts.
Burleyson ranked second in the nation with 11 saves for the SAC champion Catawba Indians along with three wins on the mound. Burleyson heads into the Super Regional with a dazzling 2.25 ERA and 33 strikeouts over 36 innings pitched. Burleyson recorded the final six outs in Catawba's win over Young Harris on Saturday to advance to its third straight Super Regional.
Crabtree and Burleyson lead Catawba into the Southeast Super Regional this weekend, hosting fifth-seed Francis Marion Thursday through Saturday. All game times are currently set to 6 p.m.
