ROCK HILL, S.C. — Thanks to notching his fifth consecutive game with five or more goals, Tanner Stout of the Catawba College men's lacrosse team was named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Stout spearheaded an attack that dominated Mars Hill on Saturday, ripping six goals with four assists in a 26-4 blitzing. The Elon, N.C., product was key in offensive rebounding as well, tracking down five ground balls to extend Catawba's time of possession. Stout's totals in points and assists marked career highs for the junior.
The outburst put Stout in second place in the SAC this year with 48 strikes; he is four goals away from tying the Catawba single-season record.
Catawba wraps up the regular season at rival Wingate on Wednesday, Apr. 22, in a matchup of two top-10 foes. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
