#17 Men's Lacrosse dismantles UAH, 20-9

SALISBURY, N.C. — The 17th-ranked Catawba College men's lacrosse team picked up its first home win of the season with a decisive 20-9 victory over the UAH Chargers on Saturday afternoon at Shuford Stadium.

TEAM STATS
- Catawba (6-1) logged a season-best .385 shot percentage with a firm 52-36 advantage in total attempts while holding the Chargers (3-8) to a .250 clip
- The Catawba Indians finished with a narrowly-positive margin in the turnover count, committing 17 miscues against UAH's 20
- The blue and white saw significant success in their transition game with an .897 clearing percentage (26-for-29); UAH was less fortunate on the clear at .760 (19-for-25)
- Catawba recorded more than double than the Chargers' share of ground balls, winning the category by a resounding 37-18
- On faceoffs, the Catawba Indians came out in front 15-14 with Cael Petroff and Mason Adams leading the way at eight and seven wins, respectively; UAH attributed much of its success on the dot to Peter Dias who went 8-for-10
- Ben LoPiccolo's 12 saves secured the win for Catawba as Broden Clemons-Ellison made one stop in his college debut and Brady Gauntner made his first appearance of the year; for UAH, Tommy Peer stacked 10 saves in 45 minutes before giving way to Jake Sander who tallied three denials

INDIVIDUAL STATS
- Tanner Stout delivered a season-high five bullseyes with one assist, tying his career-best point total of six, while turning in three ground balls
- Boston Rehrer and Micah Stechmiller each registered hat tricks with three goals apiece
- Peyton Turner chalked up four points on two goals and two assists, sharing the team lead in helpers with Statton Rehrer
- Garrett Simi and Jack Mercer round out Catawba's six-man stable of multiple-time goal scorers with two strikes each
- Adams piloted the Catawba Indians in ground ball pickups with a career-high six, followed by Owen Conway with four grabs as the sophomore defenseman also caused two turnovers
- Turner and Peter Myers each wound up with one takeaway and two ground balls in their statlines

UP NEXT
Now at the halfway point of their 2026 season, the Catawba Indians face their third ranked opponent on Wednesday, Mar. 18, against No. 11 Lenoir-Rhyne at Shuford Stadium. Opening draw is slated for 4 p.m.
