Blacksburg, Va. — The Catawba College women's track and field team split up between the Doc Hale Invitational hosted by Virginia Tech and the JDL Camel City Invite at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Doc Hale Invitational
One-Mile Run
- Natalie Almond was the top Division II finisher in the mile, nearly breaking five minutes again with a 5:00.25 time, good for 13th
- Mandi Pollard earned a top-20 placing with a mark of 5:05.73, good for 18th
60-Meter Hurdles
- Aaliyah Raleigh placed third in her heat in the 60-meter hurdle prelims with a mark of 9.41 seconds
3,000-Meter Run
- Hannah Caudill placed fourth in the women's 3K run with a school-record time of 9:48.61 as the top Division II finisher in the event
- Madi Clay also broke 10 minutes in the event, crossing the line in 9:56.01, good for a sixth-place finish
JDL Camel City Invite
Long Jump
- Elizabeth Deen reached 5.66 meters on her best long jump attempt, good for an eighth-place finish in the field
400-Meter Dash
- Tatiana Chigwerewe ran 1:00.01 in the 400-meter dash, placing ninth in the event at JDL
