Salisbury, N.C. — The Catawba College softball team fell in both ends of a doubleheader to 8th-ranked North Georgia at Whitley Field on Saturday.
GAME ONE | North Georgia 5, Catawba 3

FIRST INNING
- North Georgia walked and stole second to lead off the game
- UNG's two-out RBI single put the game's first run on the board
- Back-to-back errors but two runners aboard for Catawba
- Monroe's infield single tied the game at 1
- Prescott followed up with a single up the middle to put Catawba in front 2-1
SECOND INNING
- Flynn's one-out homer in the second had Catawba ahead 3-1
THIRD INNING
- North Georgia hit a three-run homer in the third to retake the lead
FIFTH INNING
- Another two-out RBI single allowed UNG to add an insurance score

FIRST INNING
- North Georgia walked and reached second on a wild pitch, allowing Brumby's two-out single to score a run, putting the Nighthawks up 1-0
THIRD INNING
- UNG doubled its lead with a two-out solo homer in the third
FOURTH INNING
- Another two-out homer in the fourth – this time a two-run shot – had Catawba ahead 4-0
- McCorkle responded with a leadoff homer in the bottom half
SIXTH INNING
- A safety squeezed score UNG's fifth run of the game
- Nixon added Catawba's second leadoff homer of the game in the bottom half of the sixth
