Winston-Salem, N.C. — The Catawba College women's indoor track and field team saw its mile record fall on Saturday at the JDL Fast Track, among many other top finishes in the team's final tune-up before the indoor conference meet.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Long Jump
- Haleigh Johnson placed seventh in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.05 meters
60-Meter Hurdles
- Aaliyah Raleigh and Johson finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the women's 60m hurdles
400-Meter Dash
- Brooke Rediger was the runner-up in the women's 400-meter dash, crossing in 57.82 seconds
- Tatiana Chigwerewe also turned in a top-five finish with a run of 1:00.32
800-Meter Run
- Joanna Owczarz and Emer Mcglynn placed third and sixth in the women's 800 meter run just over a second apart
200-Meter Dash
- Lea Legros finished as the runner-up in the women's 200-meter dash with a time of 25.48
One-Mile Run
- Hannah Caudill broke the women's program record in the mile, breaking five minutes with a mark of 4:58.18
