NEWBERRY, S.C. — The Catawba College women's volleyball team kept its postseason hopes alive and well by defeating Newberry, 3-2, at Eleazer Arena on Tuesday night.
TEAM STATS
- The Catawba Indians (9-13, 6-11 SAC) most importantly won the match, but lost the hitting battle .207-.186
- The blue and white cracked off 62 kills, diminishing the Wolves' (11-13, 6-11 SAC) mark of 51 darts
- Both teams tallied seven out-of-bounds serves, but Catawba had the advantage in aces with a 10-8 margin
- Newberry's blocking game contributed to the Catawba Indians' lowered hitting percentage as the Wolves boasted a 9-2 edge in stops
INDIVIDUAL STATS
- Lillie Kate Rogers sprayed 18 kills with 20 digs, tying and surpassing her career high in the respective categories
- Jordan Duzenack and Sofia Beard each hammered 13 kills on the outside
- Haley Moffett distributed 28 assists for the second straight match and served up a career-high four aces
- Tamie Boudot tacked on 26 dimes with seven digs and a kill on two attack attempts
- Riley Hill racked up 27 digs while excelling at the service line with three aces and no errors
