Virginia Beach, Va. — Catawba College seniors Victor Smith and Miles Stephens punched their tickets to the finals of the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash, respectively, with top seed times at the 2026 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday in Virginia Beach.
HOW IT HAPPENED
60-Meter Dash Preliminaries
- Smith set the fastest mark in the field in the prelim round with a 6.61-second run, qualifying him to Saturday's final
200-Meter Dash Preliminaries
- Stephens qualified for the 200m finals with a mark of 21.06, good for third-fastest in the prelims
- Smith ranked 11th in the 200m prelims, earning his Second Team All-America status in the event, but not able to push through to Saturday's final
UP NEXT
- The pair advance to Saturday, searching for Catawba's first-ever national champion
