Mount Olive, N.C. — The Catawba College softball team fell in both ends of a doubleheader at Mount Olive in their first action in a nine-day span on Tuesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST INNING
- Altiers ripped a double to left-center to drive in two Catawba runs with two outs
- Prescott followed up with a double down the left field line to score another with Catawba up 3-0 after the top of the first
SECOND INNING
- A leadoff double and bunt single allowed Mount Olive to score on a sac fly
THIRD INNING
- The Trojans loaded the bases with one out in the third and tied the game with a two-run single
SIXTH INNING
- Flynn singled and stole second to lead off the sixth
- Altiers singled through the middle and Ellie Southern stole second as a pinch runner
- Prescott's RBI sac fly put Catawba in the lead
- Lainey Ruscoe's RBI groundout added an insurance score
SEVENTH INNING
- UMO singled and walked to start the seventh, putting the tying runner aboard
- An RBI single to left field also moved the tying run to scoring position
- A bunt moved the winning run to second base
- A two-out single scored both runs and walked it off for UMO

- A two-out single scored a third run in the first for the Trojans
FOURTH INNING
- Another two-run, two-out single for UMO extended their lead to 5-0
FIFTH INNING
- A bases-loaded walk and an infield RBI single with the bases loaded made it 7-0
