LORETTO, Pa. — The Catawba College men's volleyball team made a hard charge in the second set, but ultimately fell victim to a second sweep at the hands of Saint Francis on Saturday evening at DeGol Arena.
TEAM STATS
- Catawba (5-6) improved upon the previous night hitting-wise with a .188 clip while dropping Saint Francis (6-5) to .261 in attack
- SFU narrowly came out ahead in service with an 8-3 advantage in aces, but suffered an 18-15 lead in errors
- The blue and white led in digs for the third consecutive contest, making 34 stops against the hosts' 32
- The Red Flash nearly doubled their blocking output from Friday's tussle with nine denials while Catawba managed 5.5 stuffs
- Total point scoring tightened up from a 15-point deficit on Friday to a 78-66 margin that saw the Catawba Indians fight to 28-26 in the second stanza
INDIVIDUAL STATS
- Anders Christianson mashed at a solid .444 clip with 10 kills while tallying three blocks and four digs defensively
- Justin Arrowood neared double figures on the offensive end at nine kills with five digs
- Middles Logan Neitzel and Wyatt Eastin added three kills apiece and three and two blocks, respectively
- Mason Archer offered 23 assists with eight digs as he, Christianson, and Ryan Ferguson recorded one service ace apiece
- Max Adkisson racked up 10 digs on defense — his fourth match with double-digit digs this season
