SALISBURY, N.C. — The Catawba College men's volleyball team secured its third consecutive victory with a 3-0 sweep of Newberry on Tuesday night, closing out a five-match homestand.
TEAM STATS
- Catawba (5-4, 2-0 IVA) fired 40 kills on a team hitting percentage of .253 while holding Newberry (1-7, 0-1 IVA) to 25 kills and a .132 success rate
- While the Catawba Indians were superior in service aces by a 9-7 margin, the Wolves committed fewer errors by a difference of 13-9
- The blue and white doubled up the first-year program in blocking with an 8-4 advantage, marking a season-low allowance
- Catawba posted a narrow triumph in the digs realm, topping the Wolves by a marginal 29-26
INDIVIDUAL STATS
- Anders Christianson led the lineup in kills for the first time in his career, mashing 11 on a .333 clip with a team-high three aces
- Justin Arrowood delivered nine blasts with four blocks, including one solo stop, and six digs
- Wyatt Eastin batted .500 with seven kills, two aces and a pair of blocks
- Logan Neitzel had a hand in five blocks while going 6-for-7 in attack for an .857 day
- Mason Archer, named the IVA Setter of the Week on Monday, kept his numbers strong with 32 assists, two kills and a team-best seven digs
