Salisbury, N.C. —- The Catawba College Beach Volleyball team opened action in 2026 with a pair of 5-0 sweeps of Sandhills Community College on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emma Christensen and Marcella Hermont earned a 21-12, 21-9 win in their Catawba debut at the #1 position
- Sidney Kettelkamp and Emily Dudley picked up a 21-16, 21-16 in #2s
- Lauren Bodell and Peyton Fendley earned a 21-14, 21-19 victory in the #3 position
- Eliza Liva and Lily Landis teamed up for a win in their Catawba debuts at #4s, 21-11, 21-6
- Sydney Wattles and Taylor Vecchione earned a 21-11, 21-7 win in #5s to close out the opening sweep

- Hermont and Kettelkamp took on the #1 singles pair in match two and won 21-8, 21-9
- Dudley and Christensen followed suit at #2s, 21-8, 21-7
- Fendley and Bodell went 2-0 as a team with a 21-13, 21-19 win
- Liva and Landis did the same with a 21-15, 21-12 victory
- Valentina Rodriguez and Wattles won at #5s, 21-7, 21-18
- Megan Halford and Mae Henning won in the #6s match, 21-13, 21-11
