ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — The 10th-ranked Catawba College men's golf team retained its position on the podium in Tuesday's final round of the Spring Kickoff Invitational, finishing in a tie for third place in the event hosted by Lincoln Memorial at St. Johns Golf & Country Club.
The blue and white shared the final spot on the podium with No. 7 Georgia Southwestern as the top two spots went to No. 8 St. Mary's (Texas) and No. 18 North Georgia, respectively. Catawba posted a 24-over-par 888, following behind the first-place Rattlers by 23 shots and the Nighthawks by 13. St. Mary's captured the title using four top-10 placers including individual medalist Baptiste Touchard who won in a playoff.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Antoniadis drilled his second under-par round of the tournament with two birds and one bogey to rise into a tie for first place, but fell to Touchard in extra golf to take the runner-up position
- Esnault made a slight descent into a share of 11th place, picking up no creatures of the avian variety but still had a steady round with a 76
- Kapur kept getting better with birdies on the 9th, 11th and 13th holes in his one-under-par third round en route to a top-20 finish as an individual
- A wild start to the round saw Barker go five-over in the initial 10 holes, but he rebounded for one bird and six pars in the home stretch to land just outside the top quarter
- Lockwood bagged his lone birdie of the day on his final hole to put up an 83, locking up a spot in the top third of the field in a tie for 32nd
- Carter balanced out an unsavory back nine with back-to-back-to-back birdies from holes 4-6, salvaging a 77 to remain in 70th place
