HARROGATE, Tenn. — The Catawba College men's basketball team allowed 21 points off turnovers, primarily contributing to its 83-78 loss at Lincoln Memorial on Friday afternoon.
TEAM STATS
- Catawba (15-5, 10-4 SAC) shot the ball well with a 41.3% clip, but unfortunately Lincoln Memorial (13-7, 9-5 SAC) had a better day with a 49.2% shooting percentage
- Both teams swished five three-pointers but the Catawba Indians exhausted eight more attempts, giving LMU an efficiency advantage of 35.7%-22.7%
- The Railsplitters took the free throw percentage category as well with a 20-for-23 (87.0%) ledger compared to Catawba's 21-for-28 (75.0%)
- The Catawba Indians maintained a firm lead in the rebounding sphere, grabbing 37 boards against the 27 by LMU
- Although they won the turnover battle by only two, the Railsplitters made them painful by registering a 21-7 edge in scoring off takeaways
INDIVIDUAL STATS
- Ibra Athie topped the lineup in scoring, putting together his second consecutive and 10th career double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds
- Solomon Tucker turned in his strongest performance of the year with a season-high 14 points while grabbing six boards
- Jordan Simpson came off the bench to drain three shots from downtown, contributing toward an 11-point performance
- Chase Daniel also cracked double figures with 10 points, also adding five rebounds, four assists and the Catawba Indians' lone block
- Carson Daniel chipped in nine points with three boards and two assists, sharing the team high in steals with Nick Walker at two apiece
