SALISBURY, N.C. — The Catawba College men's basketball team hopes to keep its unbeaten record at Goodman Arena alive on Wednesday as the Catawba Indians host nationally-ranked, Highway 70 rival Lenoir-Rhyne at 7:30 p.m.
No Fly Zone
- Catawba flaunted a midgame 17-0 run to speed past the Eagles of Carson-Newman in 71-56 fashion at Goodman Arena last Friday
- Despite being at an even 38-38 in rebounding, the Catawba Indians exploited the Eagles' miscues with a 15-6 advantage in takeaways – holding C-N without a steal
- Chase Daniel soared with career-best marks of 16 points and nine rebounds while adding four assists and three steals
- Justin Banks and Ibra Athie rounded out the list of double-figure scorers, chipping in 14 and 12 points, respectively
- Carson Daniel notched game highs of six assists and four steals to go with six points
Big Streaks
- The blue and white have yet to surrender a game at Goodman Arena this season in eight matchups, continuing a 10-game home winning streak that dates back to Feb. 20, 2025
- Catawba boasts the 13th-longest streak of home wins in Division II, good for second in the South Atlantic Conference behind Anderson (14)
- Digging deeper, Catawba has not lost a home game in regulation against an active SAC head coach since Mar. 1, 2023; last year's loss to LR was in overtime with other setbacks occurring against coaches who have left that institution
- Something has to give on Wednesday as Catawba's streak is pitted against LR's four-game streak of road victories (11th nationally, first in the conference)

- At time of publishing (Tuesday), 48% is the lowest win probability for Catawba at home through the rest of the season, including the Feb. 18 matchup with No. 5 Anderson
All-Time Series

- Since the 1960-61 season (with readily available home/away designations), Catawba holds a 48-28 advantage in Salisbury
Scouting the Bears
- Lenoir-Rhyne, the No. 21 team in Division II, makes its trek east with a 16-4 record including a 10-2 in-league tally this season

- Since losing in Virginia, LR has won eight of its last nine tilts highlighted by a 36-point lashing of Lincoln Memorial last Friday
- The Bears own top-five marks in key categories regarding tickling the twine, standing in the upper echelon of Division II in scoring offense (91.9), field goal percentage (51.3%), and three-point percentage (41.2%)
