Harrogate, Tenn. —- The 6th-ranked Catawba College baseball team clinched the number one seed in next week's South Atlantic Conference Baseball Tournament and at least a share of the conference title with a 10-0 win in seven innings on the road over Lincoln Memorial on Friday night.

- Payne Stolsworth tossed a complete-game shutout, allowing five hits scattered across seven hits with five strikeouts
- Hunter Atkins was 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored
- Ty Hubbard drove in a team-high four runs with a triple and a run scored
- Sean Shelly went 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI
- James Dunlap added three hits
HOW IT HAPPENED
SECOND INNING
- Atkins led off the second with a double
- Shelly's one-out single through the right side scored the game's first run
FOURTH INNING
- Atkins led off the fourth with another base hit; Nathan Chrismon and Shelly walked to load the bases with nobody out
- Matthew Connolly ripped an RBI single through the left side to push the lead to 2-0
- Hubbard broke the game open with a three-run triple down the right field line
- Dylan Driver scored him on a sac fly to take a 6-0 lead
SEVENTH INNING
- Dunlap led off the seventh with a base hit and scored on Sam Hunter's double down the right field line
- Atkins' third base hit of the game scored Hunter from second with Catawba leading 8-0
- With the bases loaded, Hubbard scored another run with a walk and Driver looped a single to left field, up 10-0
GAME NOTES
- Stolsworth's third complete-game shutout of the season matches a program record, last set by Brian Boltz in 1988
- Catawba's 16th SAC title in program history — the team's ninth in the last 13 seasons
