Winston Salem, N.C. — The Catawba College Men's Track and Field team had a great start to the season on opening weekend, earning four event victories in the JDL Early Bird Invitational, including three meet records in the showing.

Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener - Boston, Mass.
Men's 3000-Meter Run
- Will Lyons placed 73rd in the Season Opener at Boston University with a 3K time of 8:19.23
Men's 5000-Meter Run
- James Shue took part in the 5K at the Season Opener, running to a mark of 14:37.45
JDL Early Bird Invitational
Men's Long Jump
- Donaven Brown was the top Catawba finisher in the men's long jump, reaching 6.68 meters, good for a fifth-place finish
Men's 60-Meter Dash
- Victor Smith earned Catawba's first even victory of the day with a meet-record 6.65 time in the 60-meter dash
Men's 400-Meter Dash
- Kengel Christopher paced the field in the men's 400, setting another meet record with a 48.89
- Jeremiah Hines placed fourth with a sub-50 second time of 49.57
Men's High Jump
- Jayden Bennermon picked up an event win in the field for the Catawba Indians, clearing 2.02 meters in the men's high jump
- Marcus Hurley made it two Catawba Indians with a top-five finish in the men's high jump, clearing 1.87 meters
Men's 200-Meter Dash
- Indoor All-American Miles Stephens picked up where he left off in the 2024-25 season with an event win and a meet record with a 21.23-second effort in the men's 200
- Smith and Hines made it a 1-2-3 finish for the Catawba Indians in the men's 200
