Brown named Harlon Hill nominee

Little Rock, Ark. — Catawba College graduate student quarterback Preston Brown was named a nominee for the Harlon Hill award, honored to the top Division II football student-athlete in the nation.

Brown had a career year for the Catawba Indians, completing nearly 70 percent of his passes for 2,755 yards and 26 passing touchdowns to just four interceptions. The Charlotte, N.C. native helped lead Catawba to a four-win improvement during the 2025 season.

Catawba's signal caller marks the second consecutive year Catawba Football has had a Harlon Hill nominee, following All-American LJ Turner.

Brown led the South Atlantic Conference in passing efficiency, passing touchdowns and points responsible for. Additionally, Brown ranks seventh in the nation in completion percentage, 11th in passing yards per attempt and top 30 in the country in total offense.
