Charlotte, N.C. — The 9th-ranked Catawba College men's swimming team traveled to Division I Queens on Saturday night, as the Catawba Indians fell 167-91.
HOW IT HAPPENED
1000 Yard Freestyle
- Nazar Herashchenko picked up a runner-up finish in the Men's 1000 Free, finishing six-hundredths of a second behind the victor, placing a time of 9:22.82
200 Yard Freestyle
- Maks Minichowski was three-tenths of a second behind the winning Queens swimmer in the 200 Free, placing second in the 200 Free with a time of 1:37.48
200 Yard Backstroke
- Catawba newcomer George Fykatas added a runner-up finish in the Men's 200 Backstroke with a time of 1:48.42
200 Yard Breaststroke
- Marshall Wells touched the wall second in the Men's 200 Breast, logging a time of 2:14.00
500 Yard Freestyle
- Nazar Herashchenko earned the victory in the Men's 500 Free, posting a 4:31.61 to beat out the top Queens competitor
100 Yard Butterfly
- Lassi Miemi turned in a sub-50 second time in the 100 Fly, earning a runner-up finish with a time of 49.48
400 Yard IM
- Jules Remy was Catawba's second event winner of the afternoon, turning in a sub 4-minute 400-yard IM to take first with a mark of 3:58.68
400 Yard Free Relay
- Minichowski, Matt Howard, Sammer Abdallah and Ryan Case placed second in the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:01.13
