WINGATE, N.C. — The Catawba College women's volleyball team dropped the road half of its home-and-home series with nationally-ranked Wingate, 3-0, on Tuesday night at Cuddy Arena.
TEAM STATS
- The Catawba Indians (5-8, 2-6 SAC) were held to a -.089 hitting percentage while Wingate (17-1, 10-0 SAC) generated an efficient .295 mark
- Although the Bulldogs finished with a 7-2 edge in aces, service errors plagued the hosts with 12 miscues compared to Catawba's two
- All 16 of Catawba's kills were assisted, rivaling Wingate's 36-for-41 (.878) day
- Blocking was a main deciding factor in the South Atlantic Conference match as Wingate out-blocked the Catawba Indians 13-2; Catawba also had two block errors against none by the 'Dogs
INDIVIDUAL STATS
- Lillie Kate Rogers was one of two Catawba players with positive hitting percentages, tallying six kills on a .118 clip to complement eight digs and an ace
- Sofia Beard and Martina Foster registered multiple kills with five and three strikes, respectively
- Haley Moffett contributed 12 assists and six digs as the primary setter
- Riley Hill covered the floor with 13 digs in addition to recording a service ace and two dimes
- Beard, Foster, Maddie Dayton and Lauren Patrick each chipped in a block assist
