Minichowski, Onofer earn season-opening WePlayed Sports SAC Swimmers of the Week

Rock Hill, S.C. —- Catawba College juniors Maks Minichowski and Eniko Onofer were named the inaugural WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Swimmers of the Week of the 2025-26 season, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
 
Minichowski, a junior from Poland, earned two individual victories and two relay victories in Catawba's season-opening win over Gardner-Webb last week. Minichowski recorded the fastest times in the SAC in victories in the 100 and 200 Freestyle, while helping Catawba's relay teams in the 200 Medley Relay and 400 Freestyle Relay post the league's best times.
 
Onofer, a junior from Hungary, also won two individual events and two relay events in the Catawba Indians' win over Division I Gardner-Webb. Onofer put up the fastest time this season in the SAC in the 100 Butterfly, while also helping the Catawba women claim the top mark in the league in the 200 Medley and 400 Free relays.
 
Both Catawba teams are ranked seventh in SwimCloud's composite rankings, both are the highest in the league.
 
The Catawba Indians are back in action this weekend, heading to Charlotte to face Queens in a dual meet on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 11 a.m.
