Emporia, Kansas -- Madi Clay claims All-America honors with a eleventh place finish in the women's 10K race as Catawba & Field wrapped up the 2024 NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championship in Emporia, Kansas on Thursday night.
Clay wraps up her second NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship by claiming her first outdoor Track & Field All-America honors. The sophomore ran a time of 36:10.70 in the 10000m event to earn the honors.
Starting the day of competition for Catawba was Junior Winfred Porter who represented the Catawba men competing in the 100m dash. In the Thursday night prelims Porter ran a time 10.26 in the event finishing thirteenth. The first year Catawba Indian and native of Loxahatchee, Florida, was just one spot short of All-America honors and a few spots short of Saturday night finals.
Mikayla Jones also competed for Catawba women in the women's 10000m race on night one of the meet. She ran a time of 37.59.03 to finish in 19th place.
