Lynchburg, VA – Catawba track & field saw five school records fall and hit several NCAA marks Saturday at the Liberty Open hosted by Liberty University.

FULL RESULTS
Women- Efemena Egberi placed fifth in the 60m dash finals running a time of 7.71.
Men- Winfred Porter continued his 2024 season success securing third place in finals with a time of 6.82
Women- Mallory Witherspoon was Catawba's highest finisher in the event placing seventh with a finish of 26.22. Lea Legros ran a time of 26.35 to place 20th.
Men- Barja Walter broke his own school record in the event running a 21.50 in the event. He finished in second place in the event and hit a NCAA mark. Winfred Porter claimed ninth with a time of 21.95.
Women- Onii Bivens had an eighth-place finish in the event clocking a time of 59.38.
Men- Jordan Grant placed 20th with a time of 51.62.
Women- Sophomore Tabitha Gill finished just outside the top ten placing eleventh with a finish of 1:48.09.
Women- Southeast Cross Country Region Runner of the year, Mikayla Jones finished in third place setting a new school record with a time of 5:02.61. It was just the first of two records on the day for the junior. Sydney Cockerham placed 16th running a 5:23.75.
Men- Seth Caudill finished in eighth place with a time of 4:16.17. Right behind him was graduate Erick Ramirez who finished ninth running a 4:17.36.
Women- Junior, Raina Andrews, set a new school record in the event with a time of 2:15.76. A time that secured a third-place finish. She now holds the top-4 times in school history after breaking her own record. Charity Davies placed fifteenth with a time of 2:24.08.
Men- Seth Caudill placed seventh with a time of 1:56.16. Will Lyons finished in fifteenth place running a 1:58.76.
Women- Mikayla Jones and Madison Clay finished two-three in the event. Jones set her second school record of the day and hit an NCAA mark running a time of 9:55.00. Clay would run a time of10:08.42. Jenna Coleman secured Catawba's third top-10 finishers in the event. She placed tenth running a time of 10:47.40.
Men- Erick Ramirez secured second place in the event with a time 8:30.08. Oussama Ajala placed seventh with a time of 8:45.74. Andrew Whitehead claimed twelfth place running an 8:51.74 and Brannon Burns took home fourteenth place with a time of 8:52.79.
Men- Catawba had three runners finish inside the top ten. Stefan Lauchner finished second with a time of 14.53.15. EJ Threatt placed fourth with a time of 15:05.29. Eddie Urban secured seventh place with a completion time of 15:40.63. Also racing for Catawba was Tommy Blackwell (19th-16:03.90) and Michael Martinez (22nd – 16:09.62)
Women- Big day for sophomore Efemena Egberi in the jump pits claiming a third-place finish jumping a distance of 5.56m.
Men- Javier Gomez-Wilson secured eighth place with a leap of 6.71m. Chris Brown was just behind Wilson for Catawba jumping 6.62m to place ninth.
Women- Carmen Bishop placed 19th with a height of 1.37m
Men- Sophomore Namaurion Koontz placed twelfth with a height of 1.85m. Drew Costello finished in fifteenth with a mark of 1.80m.
Men- Chris Brown placed twelfth in the event leaping a mark of 13.68m.
Men- Seth Drake set a school record in the event launching over a height of 3.90m.
Women- Alyssa Krupa placed ninth with a toss of 10.10m
Women- Carmen Bishop placed 25th in the event with her longest toss of 32'1"/
Men- Adrian Rudisell placed twelfth in the event with a toss of 11.59m. Freshman Jacob Scannell placed 20th with a mark of 10.99m.
