Mars Hill, N.C. —- The Catawba College men's soccer team earned its fifth straight victory of the season to cap off an impressive week of two road wins on Saturday, defeating Mars Hill, 2-1 in South Atlantic Conference action.

- Joe Bennett scored his second goal of the season

- Zak Stiffler made five saves in his fifth win of the season in goal
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
- Mars Hill's Peter Plougmand had a shot on goal in the first four minutes
- Stiffler made another save in the 18th minute
- Bennett struck for the game's opening goal in the 26th minute off of the Allerton assist
- Kenny Hassler put a shot on goal right before the end of the half
SECOND HALF
- The Lions' Cam Watts' potential equalizer was saved by Stiffler in the 49th minute
- Taylor scored the eventual winner in the 58th minute
- Plougmand's shot was saved in the 64th minute before Jop Bleijlevens cut the MHU deficit in half in the 68th minute
- A pair of Plougmand shots went wide around the 85th minute
- Plougmand's final shot for an equalizer in the 90th minute was saved by Stiffler
