Morrow, Ga. —- The Catawba College men's soccer team dropped its season-opener at Clayton State University 3-0 on Thursday afternoon. The Peach Belt preseason favorites improve to 1-0, while Catawba drops to 0-1.

- The Lakers got on the board in the fifth minute on a score from Gonzalo LaChica
- Alexis Iturria put a shot on goal for CSU, but it was saved by Stiffler
- Stiffler made another save in the 22nd minute
- Nicoletti put Catawba's lone shot on goal in the 34th minute
SECOND HALF
- The Lakers struck for their second score less than two minutes into the second half
- Christian Ransome scored on a penalty kick in the 88th minute
