Women Finish 28th at NCAA II Cross Country Championships

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. -- The Catawba women's cross country team placed 28th out of 34 teams on Friday at the 2022 NCAA II Cross Country Championships. For the men, Oussama Ajala ran to a 199th-place finish as an individual in the men's race. The women's 6k and men's 10k were run at the Chambers Creek Regional Park along Puget Sound.

Madison Clay led the ladies, finishing 87th in a time of 21:56. Raina Andrews was next in a time of 22:03 and was 98th, giving Catawba a pair of top 100 finishes. The other Southeast Regionals qualifiers, Wingate and Anderson, finished 23rd and 30th, respectively.

Other runners for the Catawba women were Natalie Almond (23:01), Aislynn Reagle (23:13), Mikayla Jones (23:36), Rachel Overby (24:09) and Sydney Cockerham (24:47).

Ajala ran a time of 32:32 in the men's race.
