SALISBURY, N.C. -- Catawba and Shaw battled to a scoreless draw in men's soccer action on Wednesday night at the Frock Soccer Complex. The Catawba Indians go to 8-4-2 on the season, while the Bears are now 4-6-2.
Catawba fired off 20 shots on the night, but put just six on goal. Marlon Cruz was able to save five with one first half attempt cleared away by a defender. Shaw had nine shots total and the lone one on goal was stopped by Zak Stiffler, who earned the shutout.
The game featured eighth cards, six of those in the final 20 minutes of play. Catawba played the final 13 minutes of the contest a man down after Alejo Bzurovski picked up his second yellow card of the match.
Catawba returns to league action on Saturday as the Indians travel to Anderson for a 7:30 p.m. match.
