Swinton, Simons named D2CCA Football All-Super Region honorees

Valdosta, Ga. — Catawba College football seniors Avery Swinton and Evan Simons were named All-Super Region 2 honorees from the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA), the organization announced Thursday afternoon.

Swinton was named First Team All-Super Region 2 as an offensive lineman, finishing as the second leading vote-getter at the position. The 2025 Jacobs Blocking Trophy winner helped lead a Catawba offensive unit that led the South Atlantic Conference in total offense.

The Jacksonville, Fla. native is the first Catawba Indian offensive lineman to be named First Team All-Region since Quinzavious Sands in 2016.

Simons earned Second Team All-Super Region recognition as a linebacker, leading the Catawba defense in solo tackles, tackles for loss and sacks while ranking top three in the SAC in all three categories.

The Chesapeake, Va. native is the first Catawba Indian linebacker to earn All-Region since All-American Kyle Kitchens earned First Team All-Region after his 2017 SAC Defensive Player of the Year campaign for the league champions.

Swinton will advance to D2CCA All-America consideration, which releases later in December.
